Eligibility/Criteria
This scholarship
opportunity is available to graduating high school seniors on a one time basis.
Any graduating high school senior who is related to a student who attended the
former Herndon High School in Belcher,
Louisiana from 1956 to 1970 may apply. The amount of the scholarship will range
from $500 to $1,500. You may apply by submitting a completed application, along
with all the required information and required signatures by the due date in the
application.
Part I.
Personal Information – Provide your name,
address and phone numbers and list your parent(s) or guardian in this section.
Part II. Academic
Information –
This section tells us about your
performance and readiness for college.
Part III. Your
Honors and Contributions – We are
interest in the activities you invested time in during your high school
experience and the things others have praised or acknowledged.
Part IV. Essay – The essay will help us
understand how well you communicate and to help us evaluate your writing skills.
Part V. Three
Letters of Recommendation – Others
have noticed your excellence and we would like them to tell us about you. One
of your letters must be from a teacher or school administrator.
Part VI. Release
of Information – Your counselor,
principal or assistant principal must verify the academic information you
provided to us in Part II. Should we have any questions during the
review of your application we would need your permission to contact the school
staff.

application along with the required information no later than April 15.

Applications postmarked after the deadline will not be accepted. No EXCEPTIONS
or EXTENSIONS will be considered. FAXES are not accepted. All candidates will
be notified of their application status. Interviews will be scheduled for
finalist ONLY. Scholarships will be awarded no later than May 15.
